About the Artists

Sisters, Founders, & Co-Directors of Magical Keys, Kasia Szczech-Dlugosz - pianist, harpist, composer, and Karen Szczech - violinist, have been performing together for almost two decades. The Magical Keys Duo is known to bring a matchless performance to any concert hall providing each program with a unique selection in style, ambiance, and flavor. Kasia and Karen have performed as a duo in venues throughout the United States, Germany, Poland, Italy, Canada and Singapore.

As the Founders and Co-Directors of Magical Keys, a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to educate and mentor audiences and musicians of all ages through community music programs, they are proud of its 2 main identities: The Magical Keys Orchestra and Together We Are A Symphony.

The Magical Keys Orchestra (MKO) is a traditional chamber orchestra accompanied by a rock band, allowing classical music to be fused other genres. The MKO can be found performing around the Chicagoland suburbs throughout the whole year. Together We Are A Symphony (TWAS) is a youth and adult ensemble training program which allows anyone of any age and genre interest to join and receive training in an ensemble setting (duo, trio, quartet, rock band, choir, and more). All ticket sales from every MKO concert goes towards TWAS for funding, scholarship, paying educators, etc.

What began as a duet between 2 sisters, has evolved into an inimitable orchestra and a program that provides access to music to those who seek to create with others. Every listener, supporter, participant, observer is what brings the magic into Magical Keys.

This year’s Salon Concert Series is supported by our friends:
