About the Artist
20 year old Japan-born violinist Airi Ito is currently studying under Professor I-Hao Lee at DePaul University. Her previous teachers were Taka Matsunaga and Bernardo Arias. She made her solo orchestral debut with the Midwest Philharmonic Orchestra at age 12, and in 2022 and 2023 as a winner of the concerto competition. She performed solo in the Carnegie Weill recital hall as well as in the Chicago Symphony Hall, the Walt Disney hall, the New World Center and the Carnegie Stern Auditorium as part of various ensembles. She has received masterclasses from Pierre Amoyal, Arnold Steinhart, the Kronos Quartet and more.
